The 2011 Frankfurt motor show is 3 weeks away, and it looks like being a cracker as news and pictures of some of its supercar stars appears. Top billing currently goes to the Ferrari 458 Spider, the stunning convertible version of the 458 Italia supercar.
There’s a brand new Porsche 911, with an all-new bodystyle and new engines that are more powerful yet greener than the ones they replace.
Maserati has also pulled the wraps off a special edition GranCabrio, there’s a new Jaguar sports car coming and the new Mercedes SLK has had the high-performance AMG treatment. Don’t forget to keep your eye on evo.co.uk in the coming weeks as more Frankfurt show cars are unveiled.
Our attempts to top 200mph in a Skoda proved hugely successful, evo’s Richard Meaden hitting 227mph on Bonneville’s famous Salt Flats. We’ve a video of him topping 214mph, while you can see a picture gallery of Bonneville’s oddities and all of our Skoda on the Salt content here.
