2011 Chevrolet Volt on test in Little Rock, Arkansas, July 2011According to a recent research article by CNW Marketing Research, the 2011 Chevrolet Volt isn’t as cool as it once was. As reported by USA Today, the research firm claims that interest in Chevrolet’s plug-in hybrid electric car is at an all-time low. CNW blames the car’s high sticker price as the main reason for a drop in...

2011 Audi Urban Spyder ConceptWhile the first Urban Concept from Audi featured an innovated sliding roof design, the German automaker has now gone the whole hog and built an open-top version, or 'Spyder' in Audi-speak. Otherwise, the concept, which now goes by the name Audi Urban Spyder, is much the same as its hard-top sibling, still packing a tandem-style 1+1 seating...

Green Car Reports redesign previewWe're rather proud of our redesign, and our readers' response to the new GreenCarReports look couldn't have been better: We got several compliments, and not a single complaint. Which is pretty unheard of, in our experience. However, if you like the redesign but the font looks funny--as it did on several of our machines--we may have a solution...

EV parking sign, Portland ORPortland, Oregon wants to be a hub for electric vehicles and early electric-car adopters. Ford's F-150 EcoBoost Challenge truck. Image: FordFord is having no trouble selling its V-6 EcoBoost equipped F-150 pickups, but that doesn’t mean the automaker will stop promoting the truck or the fuel economy it achieves. Its latest Facebook-based social media blitz is called the “Ford F-150 EcoBoost Challenge,” and it’s a contest where not only the entrants win. The...

Ener1's Dropping Share Price (17 August)It’s hard enough when two companies part company on good terms, but when one side of the business relationship leaves the other with a total of $105 million in unpaid bills things are going to get a little tough. Electric Avenue - Portland, ORIn what we see as a shrewd move to help keep Portland, Oregon at the forefront of the electric-car movement, the city has dedicated a full city block, called Electric Avenue, to electric vehicle charging. At a ceremony yesterday, Portland mayor Sam Adams plugged in the first car and dedicated a street lined with chargers, in the company of...

2012 Honda Fit SportWe've always viewed the Honda Fit as one of the best all-around subcompact choices on the market. While the little five-door hatchback, last redesigned for 2009, faces increased competition from the likes of the 2011 Ford Fiesta and the new 2012 Hyundai Accent, it's still probably the most versatile subcompact we know of. It's got the lowest...
