Bike magazine's website, bikemag.com, is continually expanding its daily content with a host of new features, such as our immensely popular "Photo of the Day"—showcasing the most inspired images from the world's most talented mountain-bike photographers—and a new competition website called "Podium" that delivers the latest results on contests ranging from slopestyle and big-mountain events to UCI World Cup downhill and cross country races. Here's a snapshot of what the upgraded bikemag.com offers visitors.

One year ago, Mitch Ropelato came second in the Crankworx Dual Slalom, and has time and again proven his speed aboard a little bike. This time around, Ropelato conquered all comers and held off Mick Hannah in the finals to emerge victorious on the resplendent slopes of Whistler, British Columbia. After the race, media and friends swarmed Ropelato to congratulate him on the win.

This seems to be the year of the patriot: Aaron Gwin has consistently been winning on home soil, having swept both the US Open and the Windham World Cup. Meanwhile, Vancouver Island resident Steve Smith has just won the Canadian Open at Whistler, BC. The crowd on hand at the Whistler Mountain Bike Park was completely behind Smith, cheering loudest for him on course and raising the applause to another level when he took to the podium:

I'm sitting in the Munich airport, typing this report on a battered PowerBook. My legs are thoroughly roached from two long days of hammering next year's Treks, and I am thoroughly impressed. For 2012, Trek's key trail and all-mountain models, the Fuel EX and Remedy, will be lighter, yet significantly more capable on rough terrain than their 2011 predecessors (which themselves were no slouches).
