Dear Omss,

It's official! The stunning Jaguar C-X75 supercar has been given the green light for launch.

Today, autoexpress.co.uk can reveal the full story behind the top secret machine as we report live from the London event hosted to announce its creation.

Inspired by the swooping XJ13 Le Mans prototype of the mid-1960s, the C-X75 is the cornerstone of the firm's 75th anniversary celebrations.

And with almost 1,000bhp on offer from its petrol-electric hybrid engine, what a birthday present it's set to be...

We will be updating our story throughout the day, with pictures, video and debate.

To help fill you in on the background, have also trawled the Auto Express archive for some of the best coverage of the car to date.

You can leave your thoughts by commenting on any of our stories. We'd love to hear what you think!

We look forward to welcoming you to the site.
